Buttresses, “boixarrera” [water outlet], lattices and gangways
Between Calle Sant Faust and Calle del Sol, the irrigation canal preserves its most typical architectural elements: the buttresses (tannery façade supports to counter any tilting caused by the erosive effect of the humidity from the canal), the “boixarreres” (holes through which users could collect water from the canal for agricultural or industrial use), the lattices (the porch walls where the tanned hides were dried) or the gangways that enabled access to the tanneries from the irrigation path passing over the water.
