Below the surface of the Rec
For five years, the social science research group CERCA has voluntarily worked on the oral memory project Sota la Pell del Rec, research that has left dozens of hours of recorded testimonies and an exhibition with the same name that summarises the collected documents and material. “Below the surface of the Rec” explains the social and economic life of the Rec district, the industrial and production activities carried out there in the last hundred years and all the transformations that have taken place. It does this the best way possible: through the voices of those who have lived it intensely, whether as neighbours, workers or owners.
